Initial status report (AZB)
In accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG), an initial status report (AZB) must be submitted together with the application documents for new or modification approval procedures for installations that fall under the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED).
The aim is to document the condition of soil and groundwater with regard to so-called relevant hazardous substances (rgS) that are currently or will be produced, used or released on the site of the facility. The AZB serves as a legal safeguard and reference point for the obligation to return substances when decommissioning IED facilities.
