Geotechnical measurements
Geotechnical measurements
Due to the natural inhomogeneity of the subsoil and the often complex boundary conditions, predictions, e.g. of expected deformations of excavation structures, are associated with uncertainties. DIN 1054 therefore recommends the use of the observation method for construction measures of geotechnical category 3 or complex technical boundary conditions. The core element of the observation method is the combination of a mostly automated, metrological monitoring of the subsoil and structural behavior with the predictions of the numerical simulations carried out in advance, e.g. with the FE method. Another area of application is the verification of calculated stresses on components, e.g. piles, anchors or stiffeners.
We advise you on the planning of measurement programs, the selection of suitable measurement methods and also carry out the corresponding instrumentation and evaluation for you. We also work together with qualified partner companies.
When planning measurement concepts, we can draw on a wealth of experience, including for major projects such as Stuttgart 21. Together with our surveying partner, we also use drone flights and the resulting three-dimensional terrain models or digital twins of building structures, particularly for geotechnical risks such as landslide-prone slopes.
We carry out displacement measurements in boreholes with the inclinometer probe ourselves with our own equipment down to borehole depths of up to 50 m.
