New construction of a 540 m long prestressed concrete bridge over the 120 m deep Metsovo gorge
Location of the bridge in sandstone, mudstone and limestone
High structural loads from pillars up to 120 m high
High seismic stresses
Pillars are founded on wells with a diameter of 12 metres and a length of up to 25 metres
